Channing Tatum Cops to Rape Culture

If you must ask somebody about the societal problem of sexual assaults against women, might as well grab Channing Tatum during a press tour and force him to speak to the issue. Cosmopolitan live-streamed an interview with Tatum from Cannes where they naturally asked him about Stanford swimmer Brock Turner’s light sentence for trying to go Cosby on a passed out girl behind a frat house. Tatum quite impossibly further narrowed his eyes and gave the only response possible in the setting:

I think it’s tough. I think that rape culture is a very real thing. I really think it’s a horrible, horrible idea to let someone off because of possibly what they’re gonna be capable of doing. Because if you start doing that, where do you end? Where does that stop? Where does that line actually quit? I don’t think it’s right. I think Turner should’ve been punished, personally, but I also don’t know what the answer is to protect women, to keep you out of those situations.

Perfect answer. Bite on the premise, play hard into the obvious slant of the interviewer, and wind up with a reminder that you’re not to the person to answer this question. How could you be? You’re a man. Quickly transition into a story about how you want your little daughter to grow up to be the second woman President. Then wink knowingly and drop a Clinton in ’16 gang sign.

The Internet is already buzzing with your rape culture nod. Disney called. they want to know if you’d be interesting in starring in their next seventeen movies. You’re tracking extremely well with female bloggers. Channing Tatum has the PERFECT response to campus rape! This is obviously an important issue to you though you don’t seem to have ever mentioned it publicly before.
