Lil Wayne was in New Orleans over the weekend to film the video for his new single, “God Bless Amerika”, and you already know it’s a controversial and edgy song because he misspelled America. The video opens with Weezy standing in front of a giant American flag, because that is super creative and original, but it is quickly dropped to the ground to reveal the poor and forgotten people of New Orleans (I assume that’s part of the point of the song). And then the rapper walked all over the flag.
A lot of people are going to be outraged over this, and I’m sure Lil Wayne will eventually offer some sort of apology. Maybe he can do it in front of a bank after he checks in on his millions of dollars so he can shout, “American is just the worst, you guys!” He should bring the people from his video, too.
