Lena Dunham Wants To Bite Anne Hathaway’s Teeth

Because we all live to hear from her, Lena Dunham has pulled the bear claw out of her mouth long enough to praise Anne Hathaway for her performance at the Oscars. There may be no one alive today more annoying or full of crap than Lena Dunham. The Ewok-like Girls writer is throwing her support behind fellow screeching banshee Anne Hathaway. Many people gave Anne crap for her faux-modesty filled and over rehearsed appearance at the Oscars. A lot of the hate came from women who found both the weight loss she made such a big deal about and her whole demeanor annoying. So, Lena came to her defense Tweeting, “Ladies: Anne Hathaway is a feminist and she has amazing teeth, let’s save our bad attitudes for the ones who aren’t advancing the cause.”

First of all, how the F is Anne Hathaway a feminist? It’s been a while since my Women’s Studies course in college but as far as I can tell starring in movies about fashion magazine secretaries and singing off key doesn’t make her Gloria Steinem. It’s also telling that the only other nice thing Lena can think to say is that Anne has nice teeth. Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know that I’m only allowed to be critical of someone with bad dental hygiene. Lena and Anne are part of the same self serving BS Hollywood hypocrisy. Dunham is always talking about how everyone is down on her being naked all the time on Girls and that people shouldn’t make such a big deal about it. But guess who’s calling more attention to her nudity than anyone else? SHE IS! Not only do we have to watch her doughy naked flesh every episode, we also have to hear her blab about it. Same thing with Anne. She starved herself for Les Miserables, even though she was specifically and actively discouraged from doing so by director Tom Hooper. She talks about her dramatic weight loss to anyone who will listen but then turn around and says that people shouldn’t obsesses about that aspect of her performance and that Hollywood encourages women to be too thin? Hey, Princess Diaries, make up your mind.

You know what isn’t feminist, Lena? Talking about your body, (and Anne’s), as if that’s all that’s important about you.
