Paris Hilton has been charged with two misdemeanors – driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher – stemming from her arrest on September 7th after the LAPD noticed her driving her Mercedes-Benz SLR erratically. Hilton is scheduled for arraignment Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in Los Angeles but is not required to attend the hearing. The maximum punishment for a first-time DUI is a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail. Hiltons publicist says:
“Paris regrets the entire event. She had never been arrested before, so to go through the police procedure was very disorienting for her. It was personally humiliating for her; she is not taking it lightly or frivolously."
On the day of the arrest, Hilton took things lightly and frivolously and told Ryan Seacrest that she was only driving erratically because she hadn't eaten anything all day and had worked for hours on the set of her new music video. I'm not technically a doctor, but I'm almost positive having a job doesn’t give you a .08 blood alcohol level. Hilton has no idea what work is, so maybe she thinks it does. She probably thinks if you work 30 hours a week, you literally die.
