People Magazine spends money wisely

June 24, 2006 | Photos | editor | 0 Comments

Gawker says today that the issue of People Magazine with the first pictures of Shiloh Jolie Pitt sold about 2.3 million copies, 800,000 more than they normally sell in an average week. And since the Shiloh issue sold for 50 cents more than usual, People earned a tidy 2.25 million dollar profit. Which would be awesome had they not spent 4 million to buy the pictures. Based on stuff I made up just now, it would have helped if People wasn’t typically such an ass kissing train wreck, where all celebrities are like magic wishes wrapped in candy. Believe it or not, reading a thousand words on Mariah’s courage is pretty much my least favorite hobby.
