There’s a direct line between an actress coming out as gay and the time in which she’ll appear onscreen topless for the first time in rape and incest scenes in a low budget film. Ellen Page’s line just hit. Page was lauded a couple years ago for announcing what everybody in town already knew at a rally of extremely supportive gay rights activists. Like Tom Brady discussing Deflategate on local Boston sports talk. Not a ton of tough questions.

Since her big moment, Page has gone full flannel shirts and black jeans and Humphrey Bogart hats. Also some of the ladies Bogie used to land. Being lesbian in Hollywood allows you to pick and choose the films in which you’re expected to get naked. Also, you get to marry Johnny Depp. He’ll never make you feel like another woman does. The money’s not bad. These films nobody outside of Budapest ever see don’t pay for themselves.
