The Barack Obama Muslim Wedding Photos Are Certain to Go Unnoticed

There’s a solid chunk of Americans who believe Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim. Photos broadcast by Bill O’Reilly on his TV show of Obama in Muslim garb attending his half-brother’s wedding twenty-five year ago ought to quell those rumors. What this photo shows most objectively is that the Obama is a Secret Muslim club is pretty shitty at tracking down photos.

O’Reilly used the images to lead into a discussion about how Obama’s blindness to the threat of Islamic terrorism was the greatest failure of his Presidency. O’Reilly inferred this was at least partially related to Obama’s personal connections to the faith. The photo is entirely inflammatory since we’ve all had to wear stupid shit to weddings before. The more salient issues that people find nearly impossible to discuss rationally is how Obama’s upbringing influences his views on the world. That upbringing including being raised in and around Muslim relatives and friends.

Regardless of matters of faith, it would be odd if you weren’t shaped in part by your childhood memories. If you John Cena your eyes closed and think of Muslim, maybe you think of some guy with a shit load of K’s in his name blowing up kids in a Chuck E. Cheese. Obama remembers some guy who helped him fix his bike tire and gave him a bean pie when he was hungry. Maybe his first hand job was a Muslim chick. These are the developmental ties that bind.

Half of the country hates Obama the other half loves him. This changes nothing. O’Reilly could’ve considered these same stories on the prophylactic front end of the Obama years versus as a goodbye post-mortem. Be the doctor. Not the undertaker.
