Hollywood is beyond pissed that Hillary Clinton is not coronating into the White House in January. It’s deep and furious and building up pressure like a toilet jammed with the used tampons of glass ceiling victims. Beyond the satirical sketches on SNL and other comedy and late night talk shows, expect to see little bits of hate expelled in shows such as the American Music Awards. Not the monkeys reading the lines. The writers and show producers lining up the bits.
Gigi Hadid couldn’t put two thoughts together in her head with the aid of hours of supervised training and gluten-free food pellets as rewards. The producers of the American Music Awards rehearsed her into a grade school Melania Trump imitation, meta mocking Trumps speech at the RNC that borrowed heavily from a Michelle Obama speech years earlier. Because the history of political party convention discourse is on the minds of the fifteen year old Ariana Grande fans filling up the demographics of the AMA audience.
Jimmy Kimmel or Ricky Gervais doing awards show Trump jokes is funny no matter your political affiliation. They are trained satirists, politically left perhaps, but funny and talented first. Trump and his family are fat targets. A mindless celebrity model daughter poorly performing out of context political humor is merely an expression of her puppet masters’ collective rage. Opinion pieces from HuffPo make for horrible standup bits.
