Michael Sheen Quitting Hollywood to Fight Nazis

Michael Sheen is best known as that guy in Masters of Sex and as that other guy in a ton of movies over the past fifteen years, including Passengers and Nocturnal Animals out now. He’s also fucking Sarah Silverman. He’s giving it all up to return to England to battle the far right populism as evidenced by Brexit and the Trump Presidential victory. He compared the current political landscape to the rise of Naziism on the continent in the 1930’s:

It will be a big change for how people relate to me. Once I’m in, I’m fully in, and this is big. As soon as you start to be effective, then people try to crush you, because it’s dangerous.

That certainly sounds heroic. Almost like an actor in a movie. It’s unclear precisely what Sheen’s plans are to combat national socialism, but assume he’ll start with a cocktail with friends at the Draycott and move on from there.

Sheen admits that his major move toward London based Nazi-fighter may destroy his relationship with Sarah Silverman, which may very well explain his desire for a drastic change in professional pursuits. Imagine Silverman taking the breakup much better if it’s related to stopping Trump and Putin and the Trilateral Commission triumvirate.

To Sheen’s credit, while Hollywood ninnies are racing about trying to find new ways to put zero skin in their sky is falling game, Sheen’s quitting. It may be vague and largely imbecilic, but it’s something the minute he turns down a fat paycheck for six weeks work on a movie. Go forth, brave Internet warrior. They’ll never be a better Underworld Lucian.
