Shailene Woodley isn’t holding back when it comes to her views on sex—and one thing she’s made very clear is her disdain for porn. In a recent interview, the Big Little Lies actress opened up about her sexual nature, describing herself as “a very sexual person” while emphasizing that, for her, porn doesn’t fit into that picture. Woodley expressed strong opinions against the adult film industry, saying it’s not only damaging but gives people the wrong idea about intimacy.

“Pleasure is so important and we just rip each other off of it because I think we don’t necessarily even know what’s possible, and that’s my big beef with porn. You’re selling everybody McDonald’s when you could have, like, woah — much better quality!”

According to Shailene, porn distorts what real, meaningful sexual experiences should look like, setting up unrealistic expectations that can be harmful to relationships. The actress, known for being outspoken about topics like sexuality and body image, says that her issues with porn come from its portrayal of sex as something mechanical and detached, rather than as a true connection between people. You can hear more about what Shailene thinks of sex and porn on the latest episode of something called “She MD” which sounds like a podcast I would personally not want to listen to, ever.

While Woodley isn’t shy about discussing her love life or her personal views on sex, she wants to challenge the societal norms surrounding intimacy and porn consumption. Her take? Porn is stripping away the authenticity and emotional depth of sex, which is something she feels passionate about preserving in her own life.

I know one person who isn’t too fond of what Shailene had to say about the porn industry; the iconic adult performer Evan Stone:
