Allison Mack Blames Scientology For Choosing Sex Cult Recruiter As Career Path

January 3, 2019 | celebrity | Elliot Wolf | 0 Comments

Of all the excuses available to use when you’re caught with your pants down, Allison Mack chose “well if Scientology does it, it must be okay.” Mack better hope Xenu answers prayers. Because blackmail is still against the law. But brainwashing, Scientology’s preferred tactic to keep their cult in line, is more of a legal grey area when the victim is an adult.

Lawyers for Allison Mack argued in court documents that if Scientologists aren’t guilty of exploiting forced labor through blackmail, then neither is she.Mack was arrested in April 2018 alongside Keith Raniere on charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy. Women involved claim they were branded and coerced into sex with Raniere. The pair kept dossiers of potentially embarrassing information about the women as collateral to keep them from leaving the group.

“The government argues that Ms. Mack obtained forced labor through ‘threats of serious harm,’ with serious harm being the embarrassment that would result from the exposure of one’s collateral,” the court filing said. “Courts have found, however, that such an outcome, albeit embarrassing, does not amount to serious harm under the statute.”

The documents are referring to a 2009 case in which a couple unsuccessfully sued the Church of Scientology. The court ruled that threatening to cut church members off from their loved ones if they didn’t continue to work doesn’t count as serious harm.

I don’t agree with the 2009’s case ruling here. Being cut off from friends and family should count as serious harm when you’re in a cult. The threat of weak-willed individuals possibly losing a support system only creates more mental instability, ultimately forging more nutcases like Tara Reid. The world doesn’t need another Tara Reid. But I guess it’s just another one of those legal quirks that makes very little sense. Like how drunk drivers are completely responsible for their actions while driving a car but drunk women aren’t when they want to get laid. Go figure. Either way Allison’s argument in court will probably be considered weaker than a Kardashian’s knees after an NBA All-Star Weekend. I wish her the best of luck as one of the rare women that ended up on the wrong side of a sex cult #MeToo.
