Women have been altering their image for as long as anyone can remember but Lili Reinhart is not one of those girls. She belongs to a mostly delusional group of women known as the #nofilter females. They’ll wear a ton of make-up and say things like “all natural” and “I woke up like this.” But apparently Photoshop is where they draw the line for lying. And that’s why she was completely livid when she found out Cosmopolitan Philippines airbrushed an extra curve or two onto her body. Some unlucky intern had the job of transforming Lili’s figure into an hourglass shape and didn’t get so much as a thank you. Instead Reinhart called out the magazine for setting women back. Someone sounds like they’re sorry for not being sorry. #Girlboss.
Reinhart’s rant:
We are f—ing powerful, beautiful, and strong… we aren’t going to hide behind photoshop to confirm to beauty standards.”
“That’s why I’m calling out @cosmopolitan_philippines,” Reinhart added. “It’s sad that you felt our bodies needed to be slimmed down. But Camila and I are f—ing beautiful. As is. And you can’t ‘fix’ us. So, like every other day, women… go kick some a–. You are being heard. You are strong and sensational.
I’m not sure why she’s so upset. Justin Bieber had his manhood Photoshopped for the Calvin Klein underwear campaign. He didn’t cry. If you would like for your photos to consistently be accurate representations of yourself becoming a full-time Instagram model is always an option. You’ll have 100% control over the original photo. The pay is drastically less than what a Cosmo spread pays but it’s all about being true to yourself. And honesty is what matters most when you’re holding up bags of weight loss tea that has yet to help one obese individual shed a pound.
