Legendary AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd just got popped for paying for a hit on someone not on his Christmas card list. Apparently, that’s frowned upon in New Zealand where it’s more customary to convince the people you hate to fuck The AIDS sheep at Tucker Johns farm without any protection.
Rudd was the drummer for the Australian rock band from the mid 70’s major albums past the death of Bon Scott and onto Back in Black, after which he got into a drug-fueled brawl with Malcolm Young and was fired from the band. I guess he still digs the wampum thirty years later as a bunch of narcotics were found in his raided home along with I suppose a personal check made out to ‘1-800-Murder’. It’ll be interesting to eventually learn who he wanted popped. Not likely Malcolm Young who’s been taken off the scene recently with disabling dementia. Based on the history of decades long drug abusers who live on remote islands, I’m going to guess somebody either up or down his supply chain.
I’ve never quite understood the thinking that goes behind people hiring strangers to murder somebody for them. I understand being too old or fucked up or scared to want to do it yourself, but you have to have never seen a Dateline Special or Law and Order episode to not know 99.9% of these cases turn into failed schemes and jail. The meth probably had a vote in this.
