This video is an addendum to last week’s rapist-empowered Xtina post, because it really exemplifies just how delusional we can be towards a musician if we think his songs are damn bops. R. Kelly has been a know sexual assailant – if that’s even what you call someone who pisses on the faces of his child sex slaves – for literally decades. But it took the recent Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly for Chicago police to raid search studio and investigate the decades-worth of allegations against the rapper. Lifetime. This Lifetime.
Because of the Lifetime series and ensuing celeb fallout, the nation seems to have finally turned its back on Kelly. A little too late to unrape fourteen-year-old Aaliyah. But lol hindsight’s 20/20. In 1993, a fourteen-year-old Aaliyah recorded the R. Kelly-written and produced song Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. And we were like – that checks out? Seriously, were people just stupider back then?
Anyway Dave Chappelle told us all we needed to know all the way back in 2003 with his hilarious Piss On You music video. Well actually, Chappelle specifically references the rumor that Kelly likes to piss on girls’ faces. You can hear his separate take on fifteen-year-olds below. Honestly Piss On You is so funny that Dave Chappelle could be a child rapist and I wouldn’t care.
