If you needed any more proof that the world is currently spinning in reverse, the pedophile whisperer was recently arrested. Thee Chris Hansen? Yeah, him. But don’t toss in the towel on living just yet. His arrest had nothing to do with underaged kids. He’s in trouble for being poor. Which is weird. I thought money problems were only for people who aren’t on TV. It turns out that everyone, including myself, was so wrapped up in candid justice that we forgot to question the quality of our beloved host on To Catch A Predator. Chris was caught cheating on his wife a while back and he’s been front row to the shit-show ever since. His wife is finally leaving. And with most of the money in the joint bank accounts too if he’s being arrested for writing bad checks.
Chris Hansen‘s larceny arrest is no shocker to the people who funded his “To Catch a Predator” reboot — they say Hansen came up short with them long before Johnny Law caught him.
The former host launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2015 to start a new show about himself catching predators. His goal was $75k and he offered tiered prizes to anyone who donated.
Some of those prizes included the custom mugs and shirts Hansen got from the vendor in Connecticut — and allegedly tried to pay for with 2 bounced checks … leading to his arrest this week. As it turns, out … he apparently failed to deliver on the goods to a handful of his donors too, many of whom are furious. Chris’ Kickstarter page is flooded with comments — dating back years — complaining about getting partial prizes, delayed prizes, or just bupkis.
Chris lost his wife, NYC residence, and entire mind if he thought a small business was going to forget about a $13,000 bill. He’s going to have to do some overtime if he’s ever going to get back on his feet. Luckily there’s never a shortage of pedophiles. How about a Hollywood edition? Or a show that focuses on finding where exactly in Poland is the final boss pedophile Roman Polanski hiding.
