More proof is popping up that fat shaming is 100 percent a women’s problem. Body positivity has never been for all. Men with the same sized breast as the women they wish to date will never get an opportunity to sleep with said women. Where’s their movement? There isn’t one, they just have to suck it up. God forbid any overweight woman steps foot on a treadmill and skips eating before bed. Fat acceptance and seeking sympathy is always your best bet. Now a woman who gets paid for being photographed wants the world to stop because a client felt she wasn’t the shape they were looking for.
Model Bridget Malcolm is sharing the story of her third-worst experience on a modeling shoot, when she was made to feel ashamed of her size-4 body.
The Victoria’s Secret model, 26, writes on her blog that she showed up to a swim shoot and found that the client expected her to still have the 33-inch waist she had in old photos.“Whilst shooting, I had one lady refuse to look me in the eye, choosing instead to address my stomach with a sneer. I addressed her, smiled, and she didn’t even look away from my stomach, let alone respond to me beyond mono syllables,” Malcolm recalls. “Another lady asked me to please make my ribs show more whilst shooting, suck in my gut, and tied a sarong around my hips, to ‘hide them.’ I got a high school level bitchy up and down when I came out of the changing room, and another woman just didn’t even register my presence.”
Anyone with a profession that involves being paid actual currency for other people to take pictures of you shouldn’t be allowed to say more than a few words in one sitting or have an opinion. Women are the primary offenders when it comes to attacking other women for being fat and somehow everyone, men especially, are to blame. Chrissy Metz was married, Mama June was impregnated at one point and which man is really turning down sex with Ariel Winter if she offered and he knew no one would ever find out. Fat women can function in society with almost the same “privileges” as a woman half of her size. There’s always some guy horny enough to hit it even when you have back cleavage and a FUPA. Just because your feelings were hurt doesn’t make size 4 being considered fat a fact. If your job that’s rooted in superficiality says you look too fat then learn another skill besides posing for the camera and shut up.
