Before today Gillian Anderson was the latest celebrity to rather go nude than wear fur for PETA, and while her shoot was more a part of an “I’ve still got it” tour, new PETA model Ireland Baldwin’s photo is more a part of her “I’ll never have it” tour. Ireland is the ugly stepsister of the celebrity kid model community – only surpassing the Willis coven in not looking like a radioactive skin tag – which must be especially challenging considering her mother was somewhat of a sex symbol and her sister, well, isn’t the hottest thing in the world, but is at least thin.
In her lengthy Instagram caption accompanying the nude pic, Baldwin brings up the point that if you wouldn’t wear your dog, you shouldn’t wear another animal. And when you look like a dog like Ireland does, the message is particularly poignant:
It’s out! So thrilled to share my brand new Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign with @peta! I’ve dreamt of shooting this for as long as I can remember. If you don’t truly know what goes into making fur, please educate yourself. Fur is cruel no matter what. If you wouldn’t skin and wear your own dog, then you shouldn’t wear fur at all because all animals are created equal. Save our animals, save our planet and join me and #Peta in making more conscious choices.
Baldwin adds about tragically being inspired by her actually hot mother’s PETA shoot from ten-thousand-years-ago:
I saw the images from when my mom shot this campaign, so it was something that I had aspired to do. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to do something for PETA. This is something my mother has fought her entire life and has advocated for and something that I have tried to as well.
It’s time that we all take a stand, so please, join the “I’d Rather Wear Fur Than See Ireland Baldwin Naked” campaign to hopefully get some actually bangable chicks to strip down.
