Unlike various House and Senate subcommittees, Corinne Olympios knows when to end an investigation. At or about the time your high priced attorney confirms your future civil case is a big zero.
Following allegations that she was sexually engaged without her sober consent on the set of Bachelor in Paradise, Olympios retained the services of aggressive celebrity attorney, Marty Singer. A lawsuit was never announced. Simply, an investigation. You know, like Nancy Drew might undertake after some drunken oral.
“My intent over the past few weeks has been to learn and understand what happened on June 4. While I never filed complaints or accusations against anyone associated with Bachelor in Paradise, my team and I felt it was very important to be thorough in getting to the bottom of what had occurred. I felt victimized by the fact that others were judging me through conflicting and unsubstantiated reports, while I myself had no recollection of the events that transpired. My team’s investigation into this matter has now been completed to my satisfaction.”
Now that statement is more subcommittee like. Especially the use of the word “filed” to imply she never accused anybody of anything untoward. Which makes you wonder why DeMario Jackson, his mom, dad, and pet python all spent the past several weeks crying over Jackson being labeled a rapist. Versus his true identity of desperate to be famous on-camera drunk chick clit licker.
Warner Bros. had previously conducted their own internal investigation and discovered no wrong-doing. Presumably they had access to first hand accounts. It’s unclear what Olympios’ investigation consisted of outside of Warner Bros. showing them the sworn affidavits of a half-dozen production team employees countering Olympios’ claim. And there go the millions.
If history is any guide, look for Olympios to jump into the role of date rape dangers spokesperson. She’s already touting the fact that Bachelor in Paradise is limiting on-set drinking to no more than twelve shots for the ladies as a sign her special investigation has women’s rights merit.
Hint, HuffPo won’t take you, darling. If you don’t think they differentiate between laudable false rape accusers and self-interested false rape accusers, you’re missing the point of their existence.
