There are some large number of empty semi-sentient empty vessels who want to know how Kardashian feels before defining their own reaction to current events. This is one of those “funnier if it wasn’t true” conditions. In the case of the Manchester bombing, Kardashian felt like posting a picture of herself looking amazing partying with Ariana Grande at a Kanye West concert. She discussed how sad she feels for concerts being ruined for all the fun people. Slightly less freely sharing her thesis on home grown radicalization of the Muslim diaspora.
The Kardashians maintain a rather sizable professional social media staff. Professional social media staff meaning women as old as thirty. Or older than anyone doing the same job at major corporate media outlets. On occasion, the easily confused sisters go straight to their millions of followers with their unedited thoughts. Like the Pope circling St. Peter’s square on his giant Hoveround. Only the Pope is just old, not a legal moron.
Internet outrage involving the word “narcissism” and “self-involved” ensued. Kardashian retracted the Tweet. These social media kerfuffles are not insignificant moments in the Kardashian household. Presume somebody was fired. And Kanye was pegged with Big Blue. The second being unrelated to the Tweet firestorm.
In defense of Kim Kardashian, pretty much every single pumpkin head celebrity in Ariana Grande’s circle Tweeted in precisely the same manner. Some photo of themselves with Grande tying their fame into the music tour and the bombing that maybe also happened but who can remember. Kardashian is actually held to a higher standard than the likes of Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus. More simply put, more people hate Kim Kardashian from the get-go. It’s possible the marketplace of ideas is working.
