Arianne Zucker Responds

Arianne Zucker has finally responded to being the subject of the Trump-Billy Bush hot mic audio tape from 2005 where Trump said he better start using Tic-Tacs for his breath in case he started kissing Zucker on the set of Days of Our Lives. Trump mentioned how beautiful Zucker was and how women don’t mind him kissing them since he’s such a huge star. Seems like a compliment, and a truth, albeit a gross generalization. Still, super offensive. So Zucker got to penning her Color Purple soliloquy: 

“I am a strong, independent, hard-working mother, business woman and partner to a great man. I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect [sic] the value of my self-worth or define the content of my character. How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face-to-face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect. Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it. In understanding the magnitude of this situation, I choose to stand tall with self-respect and use my voice to enrich, inspire and elevate the best of who we are as people.”

You probably have to write some shit like this in order to face your fellow actresses at work. Also, because Trump is rather overtly disgusting, you can’t be seen as any way complicit in the sucking up to dirty old men in power. Even if you’ve done that before, you know, like the rest of humanity digging for a job, a raise, or a meal where they serve food in foam format on fancy spoons.

The Trump tapes reveal two things. One, that for the ten thousandth year in a row most women have no idea how most men think, and speak, when no other women are around. And two, that Trump is a tool not for his piggish thoughts, but because he doesn’t have the self-control to bang young models and keep shit to himself like we all understand is how you’re supposed to handle the role of super rich and famous guy.

The hypocrisy in the media and among the vast majority of people who willingly play the powerful guy-opportunistic woman game daily is immense. Still, it’s another reminder that Trump lacks the self-control to be in a position of power. Say what you will about Hillary Clinton (heinous shrew, shrunken apple head, thief, liar, conniving crusty lesbian), she keeps her shit tight, admits to nothing, and seals her leaks. She’s a better man than Trump. Write your goodbye note to America now.
