A little kid ran on the court in the middle of a Knicks game to hug Carmelo Anthony. Which means his parents told him to. Kids are impulsive, but not that impulsive. That’s why thousands don’t die in traffic daily or commandeer commercial airliners because flying seems fun. Rather than be appreciative of the rare fan left in New York, Anthony’s concern immediately turned to personal security:
I was shocked. I didn’t really know who was it until I actually looked over and saw that it was a kid. … I think it was because he was a little kid, they just let him go. Definitely a security issue, though, for sure.
You do want to stop those zero instances of NBA players being attacked on the court. As opposed to the occasional time players have rushed the fans to throw some punches. Which way would you like the M16’s to be pointed? Just do what you always do when somebody shorter is on you. Shoot thirty-seven times. There is no real courtside security in basketball. There’s a few guys in maroon jackets lightly related to the general concept of security. Make no mistake, Dyan Cannon can knife you any time she damn pleases. She uses a walker. Give her time. Don’t fear the children. They are our future. Just like you aging out of the Association before you get a ring.
