Kelly Clarkson Nostalgic

Kelly Clarkson gave an emotional performance during the final season of American Idol. Clarkson broke into tears during her musical number as she caught herself in a monitor and realized she looks like Carrie Fisher even though she’s only thirty-three. The judges cried too, contemplating the conclusion of the easiest paycheck they’d ever received.

American Idol leaves the stage after fifteen years of jettisoning mediocre singing acts into the teen market. Unlike the Olympics which finds great athletes then highlights their personal sob stories, American Idol found sob stories and pretended they could sing. There’s a sucker born every minute. And they all have televisions.
