They are perpetuating the image of what’s wrong with America and with society, in general, that you have to look a certain way—like a Victoria’s Secret Angel—to feel beautiful and be sexy
Being skinny is impossible unless you consider the option of eating less. Have you seen the liberation of Auschwitz tapes? Even Ashkenazic Jews slim down with a strictly supervised diet. The solution to size zero models isn’t size twenty-two models. Your doctor has a chart he can hand you. Locate your height of around 5’4″, slide your finger over to the right and circle. I guarantee you it doesn’t say 220.
Fat women and skinny women are both unhealthy and miserable. But the skinny ones live longer and get paid enough to buy sweet cross trainers to dance on your early grave. Lying to yourself isn’t really a valid form of exercise. Body acceptance sounds a lot like surrender. Someday I’ll let you in on what’s really behind that Soylent Green propaganda to eat supersize.
