Bruce Jenner Racking Up Awards

Caitlin Jenner has been racking up covers and awards from major media outlets for reasons they all vaguely describe as ‘promoting transgender tolerance’. The actual reason of wanting to sell more copies seems callous compared to the high minded lie. Jenner recently scored the Glamour Woman of the Year award, odd only insomuch as the basic qualifier is being a woman. Rulebook check on man in dress with fake tits. James Smith wife Moira was awarded the very same Glamour trophy in 2001 for giving up her life to save others on 9/11 while serving in the NYPD. Smith announced he’s returning his wife’s trophy because of the magazine’s decision to cynically polish one up for Vagina Dad:

I find it insulting to Moira Smith’s memory, and the memory of other heroic women who have earned this award. Was there no woman in America, or the rest of the world, more deserving than this man? At a time when we have women in the armed forces fighting and dying for our country, heroic doctors fighting deadly diseases, women police officers and firefighters putting their lives on the line for total strangers, brave women overcoming life threatening diseases … the list of possibilities goes on … is this the best you could do?

Smith makes a valid yet completely irrelevant argument. This isn’t the Nobel Peace Prize they only occasionally hand out to terrorists. The Glamour Woman of the Year award typically goes to whatever female celebrity ranks highest in Google Search. It’s Lady Gaga or Victoria Beckham. Your wife was the anomaly. Glamour picked her only because it was a month after 9/11 and they were being politically correct.

Glamour responded to Smith’s letter with some boilerplate bullshit about why Jenner deserved to be chosen. It was about as believable as the fact that James Smith doesn’t deep down just kind of dislike trannies. He certainly didn’t return the award when Britney Spears was honored for her heroic impact on the world just a year after his wife. For his part, Jenner responded with some champagne giggles and a fuck you all, motherfuckers. E! is paying me a million an episode to be a chick. I’m so not gay. Where my hollaback boys at?
