Zendaya Coleman blasted Modeliste magazine for Photoshopping her legs and hips a bit leaner in their cover shoot. It was no simple task given that nobody could find contact information or a valid address for the clearly made-up magazine name. Zendaya only recently came to be aware that publications clean up and slenderize celebrity photos. That’s not how it went down on Yearbook committee in her upscale Bay Area suburb. So she released the original picture alongside the doctored photo to show everybody what a pain in the ass she was being about basically nothing.
Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love.
I thought she stood for truth justice and the American way, but honest and pure self love was my second guess. Zendaya failed to mention the gobs of makeup and massive hair extensions she was donning to alter her real appearance. Everybody finds their bravery somewhere. I think that was the message of the last ninety-seven young adult novel series. Zendaya found hers by subjectively calling out a small amount of the fake in her magazine photos.
