Lohans Suing Fox One Year Later

Scan the Internet with your Altavista search tools and you might find five dozen critical things written about the Lohan family on any given day. Not all horrid, but not necessarily the kinds of things you’d pay $150 to put in your Who’s Who entry. Everyone draws their line in the sand somewhere. Last February, on a show Fox News jumbled together after Philip Seymour Hoffman died, one celebrity commentator stated that Lindsay and her mom Dina used to snort coke together and that Lindsay’s ticket should be punched soon in the celebrity death pool. The Lohan’s attorneys sent a nasty letter to Fox demanding an apology and a retraction since the commentator had zero independent proof that mother and daughter ever did coke together. Fox backed down and said sorry. Now one year later I guess somebody in the Lohan family saw Rupert Murdoch’s name on Celebrity Net Worth and decided, fuck, we need to be made whole again for that blasphemy.

Defamation is a tricky subject. You can say Dina Lohan looks like she’s been bumping rails since Crockett and Tubbs were trying to shut it down. You can link to those audio tapes where Lindsay was screaming about mom being on cocaine, stories where Lindsay has admitted using cocaine, and even quotes from skeevy dad Michael claiming Dina and Lindsay snorted coke together, but you just can’t flat out say it happened. Not when the Lohans could use a little cash. For mom and daughter cocaine bonding time.
