Maria Conchita Alonso Will Not Be Talking About Her Vagina in Spanish

Those of you waiting to see Maria Conchita Alonso perform the Vagina Monologues in Spanish are shit out of luck. The Venezuelan movie star of one film back in the early 80’s appeared in a political ad with some California politician in a cowboy hat who used to be a Minuteman patrolling the Mexican border for illegals. This pissed off every person who’s ever listened to Spanish language radio who flooded the airwaves with nasty shit about Maria. The San Francisco based producers of the show followed suit:

Of course she has the right to say whatever she wants. But we’re in the middle of the Mission. Doing what she is doing is against what we believe.

So, the show is not just pro-clam, it’s pro illegal immigration I guess. I don’t know. Maybe in Spanish the vagina is used to secrete illegals across the border for a better life in America. Grandma, get in first and climb on back toward where babies come from. I’ve yet to see The Vagina Monologues, but I’m told it’s inspiring both for women and the men who haven’t the pride in masculinity to avoid seeing it.  It’s sad that politics has to contravene the potential for such wonderful art. I hope Maria can land another gig before she’s dead.
