Melissa Gorga, one of the useless forms of life from Real Housewives of New Jersey, has a new relationship advice book in which she claims that all women want to be raped. At least a little. This little nugget of Guido wisdom is just one of the pieces of terrible life advice you can read in her book Love, Italian Style: The Secrets of My Hot and Happy Marriage. Why any publisher thought there was a demand for this is beyond me. Besides telling women that they need to cook and clean and shut-up and stay by their man’s side looking pretty, she also said that it’s important to give him sex even when they don’t want to. To the guys she offers this piece of rapey advice:
“Men, I know you think your woman isn’t the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while. If your wife says “no,” turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated. Women don’t realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want.”
I honestly don’t know why anyone would be surprised by this. Certain parts of New Jersey, Long Island, and Staten Island are like stepping into the Dark Ages with a hint of Axe Body Spray. Their attitudes towards life are informed by some weird culture they hobbled together from Chef Boyardee commercials and repeated viewings of Saturday Night Fever on USA. Maybe Gorga’s hair pulling advice works there. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it if your wife has some college and an attorney in her family.
