Just as everyone predicted, Lindsay Lohan was a treacherous drunken mess during the filming of ‘Liz and Dick’, the movie about Elizabeth Taylor that premiered on Lifetime last night, but the producers had to think it was worth it because her notoriety would at least get people interested in the movie.
Well now the ratings are in, and the LA Times says it was the 4th highest rated original movie on Lifetime this year, a phrase which might have the cadence of a compliment, but really isn’t. Especially when you look at the other three:
‘Steel Magnolias’ – 6.5 million viewers
‘Drew Peterson: Untouchable’ – 5.8 million viewers
‘Abducted: The Carlina White Story’ – 4.1 million viewers
‘Liz and Dick’ – 3.5 million viewers
That’s 3 million less than ‘Steel Magnolias‘, the all black version of the 1989 Julia Roberts movie, which racists like me assumed was about stealing magnolias when they saw the commercial with the sound off.
