Elizabeth Taylor died early this morning of congestive heart failure. She was 79. People says…
On Feb. 11, it was announced that she had been in taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier that week for symptoms caused by congestive heart failure, and around 1:30 a.m. she “peacefully died there,” according to her publicist. “Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be.”
Let’s not kid each other, most old movies suck, and if you disagree with that you’re probably some mincing gaywad who I wouldn’t like. It’s not like Hollywood even had to try back then. They were competing with books and zoos, and a dark theatre with air conditioning was gonna get you a blowjob a lot faster than reading or a goat. The rare exception to this is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which is not only a great movie, but Taylor was absolutely beautiful and fantastically talented. So you should go watch that if it seems weird that people still carry on about an actress who has barely acted since the early 80’s. It will all make sense after that.
