When it was announced that Marvel and Paramount had finally found a way to make a movie based on “the Avengers”, finally assembling the superhero team of Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Nick Fury, the Black Widow and other comic icons, nerds everywhere set their phasers on “fun” and squealed in delight.
It seemed an almost impossible task, to assemble a cast of movie headliners including Robert Downey Jr, Samuel Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Edward Norton. And it was impossible as it turns out, because Norton is a notorious pain in the ass who thinks he’s way smarter than he really is. And so that’s why got fired. HitFix (which is a great site that doesn’t get nearly enough credit) broke the story Friday, and confirmed it yesterday.
Marvel Studios is going in a new direction for the Hulk, replacing Norton who starred in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk” … Marvel indicated their decision was not about salary, as sources had indicated originally, but “instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.”
What that means is that Marvel fired him because he was such a pain in the ass during ‘the Incredible Hulk’. After the movie was made he even began claiming that he wrote the script, which was categorically untrue but everyone sort of had to play along at that point. The real writer even played along, which makes sense if you saw that piece of shit. I’d rather watch a rainbow party in a nursing home than five minutes of ‘the Incredible Hulk’.
