Back in January, it came out that Kathleen Turners new biography had some scathing stories about some co-workers, including Nic Cage, who Turner said was drunk the whole time when they worked together in 1986. She even said he was arrested twice for DUI and once for stealing a dog (more on that here). Nic Cage said that none of that ever happened, and now a London court has agreed with him. Yahoo says…
Nicolas Cage on Friday won an apology and damages from actress Kathleen Turner over claims in her autobiography that he had been arrested twice for drunk driving and had once stolen a Chihuahua.Neither star was at London's High Court to hear the ruling, which brings to an end Cage's libel action against former co-star Turner, her publisher and Britain's Daily Mail, which featured an extract from the book.Smith said the allegations were false and had "caused damage to the claimant's personal and professional reputation."Turner and the two publishing groups accepted that the allegations were untrue and would pay the 44-year-old Cage's legal costs and make a "substantial" donation to charity, Smith added.
The good news is the donation may be well over 250,000 dollars. The bad news is the charity Kathleen chose is the "Buy Kathleen Turner More Bacon Foundation". Sorry kids with TB.
