Isaiah Washington was fired from "Greys Anatomy" earlier this month after a much publicized incident where he called gay cast mate TR Knight a "faggot", but now Washington insists it was Knight who should have been fired. Us says:
"They fired the wrong guy," says Isaiah Washington. In a telephone interview with the Houston Chronicle, Washington claims that it was Knight who propagated the idea that the slur was targeted at him and created a negative work environment.Washington also alleged to the Chronicle that Knight, 34, likely wanted a salary increase and a more substantive role for his character.Knight, who acknowledged that he was gay after the incident, later said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Washington used the epithet against him. "Everyone (on the set) heard it,” he said."That's a lie," says Washington, a Houston native. "I used the word during a disagreement with Patrick. I apologized for that. We shook hands and went back to work."
It would be funny if Washington was right and Knight was really some fiendishly clever madman, a madman who risks everything to say someone called him a faggot, an evil genius orchestrating a cat and mouse game of lies and deception. Man, if you think that dude hates gays now, wait until he's unemployed because one kicked his ass in a battle of cunning and wits.
