Isaiah Washington has been fired from the ABC show "Grey's Anatomy" and his dismissal comes as a direct result of several well publicized incidents. Back in October, Washington had a fight on set with Patrick Dempsey after Washington reportedly referred to gay castmate TR Knight as a "faggot". He then again said "faggot "at the Golden Globes in January. He filmed a PSA last month decrying homophobic language, but in the end, sources say his behavior made him a liability. People says:
The speculation is over: After a controversial season, Isaiah Washington will not be returning to Grey's Anatomy, his rep and ABC Television Studio have confirmed.Howard Bragman, Washington's publicist, says Washington's option was not renewed, and released this statement from the actor: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more."The cast was notified Thursday night of the final decision, which, says a source close to the situation, was a long time coming.
The ironic thing is he works on "Greys Anatomy", a show that is unquestionably queer, and watched only by girls and gays. It might as well be about shoe shopping or picking out curtains. It's all dramatic love triangles, and that borders on gay erotica, so short of them dressing him in capri pants and snakeskin boots, he should have shut the hell up and been grateful as he cashed his giant checks.
