ROSIE O’DONNELL IS SORRY, FAT

Rosie O’Donnell issued a public apology on "the View" today after mocking the Chinese language on the show last week.  O'Donnell said the Danny DeVito incident was news all over the world last week and she imagined the news in China was saying, "Ching chong ching chong chung Danny DeVito ching chong chung chung chong drunk ching chong the View ching chong."  Now Rosie says:

"This apparently was very offensive to a lot of Asian people. So I asked Judy, who's Asian and works here in our hair and makeup department. I said, 'Was it offensive to you?' And she said, 'Well, kinda. When I was a kid people did tease me by saying ching-chong.' So apparently 'ching-chong,' unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote-unquote, or mock, Asian accents. Some people have told me it's as bad as the n-word. I was like, really? I didn't know that … (I) never intended to hurt anyone, and I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt or were teased on the playground.”

Yeah, who knew it would be offensive to reduce the oldest civilization in the world down to some spastic gibberish.  What was it in your mind Rosie, a tribute?  She might as well have held up a stuffed panda bear and then pulled the bears eyes into a slant and done the impression as the bear, and then tack on “me sucky sucky.”  Go ahead and ask your next black guest is they know who stole your car too and ask Selma Hayek to clean your house for a dollar.  That’s all fine too.  They love that. 

You just know this is what she pictures in her mind when she pictures Asian people.
