HILARY DUFF IS NICE

It was one year ago that Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of New Orleans, and this week one of many descending on the city to raise awareness of the ongoing problems is Hilary Duff.  It's not the first time Duff has done her part to help.  TMZ says that she "has donated more than 2.5 million meals to hurricane victims in the south".   Reuters says she has also, "(donated) backpacks, water and energy drinks … (and) encouraged her young fans to bring canned food to her concerts for distribution to food shelters across the Gulf Coast region."  Hilary says:

"When you are a celebrity, and you have a voice that people pay attention to or a name that people watch and read about, it's the perfect opportunity to spread the word and get people motivated and to remember to help other people and give back."

Meanwhile, Britney Spears, who is actually from Louisiana, rolled around on bags of money like Scrooge McDuck and then said "psyche!" as she pretended to drop a dollar in a homeless guys cup.
