‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ was number one at the box office for the third week in a row, while new movies from M. Night Shyamalan and Kevin Smith bombed. ‘POTC’ earned $35 million to bring its total to 321 million and setting a new record for topping 300 million in just 16 days. ‘Monster House’ was second in its opening weekend with $23 million, then Shyamalan’s ‘Lady in the Water’ at No. 3 with $18.2 million. Positive word of mouth kept ‘You Me and Dupree’ at number 4 in its second week, easily defeating ‘Clerks 2’, which opened at number 6 and earned just 9.6 million in its debut.

In other movie news, FilmWad is reporting that Quentin Tarantino has cast Kurt Russell to star in his next movie ‘Grindhouse’. ‘Grindhouse’ is actually two movies, one directed by Tarantino called ‘Death Proof’, the other directed by ‘Sin City’s’ Robert Rodriguez called ‘Planet Terror’, both of which are said to be unrepentant horror films. So they should be scary. So scary that chicks might even faint, making this much better than hiring jungle natives with a blowgun. Cause those little bastards are total retards. Yeah, Tatuuca, I’m talkin to you. Well, if you don’t like it, learn to aim! GOD, WHAT AM I EVEN PAYING YOU FOR!
