‘Brokeback Mountain’ leads the Academy Awards field announced early Tuesday morning with eight nominations, among them Best Picture, Best Actor for Heath Ledger and Best Director for Ang Lee. Others in the mix for Best Picture are ‘Capote’, ‘Crash’, ‘Good Night, and Good Luck.’ and ‘Munich’.

Joining Ledger in the Best Actor category are strong favorite and very deserving Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote, Terrence Howard for a movie nobody saw, Joaquin Phoenix for a movie nobody saw and the always great David Strathairn for a movie nobody saw.
