Everyone eventually shoots 50 Cent

September 8, 2005 | celebrity | editor | 0 Comments

Federal agents and prosecutors are probing whether convicted crack kingpin Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff was arranging to kill 50 Cent in retaliation for a song called “Ghetto Koran,” in which 50 purportedly raps about McGriff’s criminal history. McGriff is a lifelong friend and employee of Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo, CEO of the record label Murder Inc. A federal investigation is trying to determine whether Lorenzo used McGriff to launder more than $1 million in drug money and provide “muscle” for the label in the form of threats, violence and intimidation. He may have even engineered the murder of rap pioneer Jam Master Jay in October of 2002 because of Jays close ties to 50. Jay signed Fiddy to his first record deal in 1996 and remained close to the rapper.

I got out of hard core hip hop for the same reason I got out of figure skating after the Tonya Harding – Nance Kerrigan incident. The violence just got to be too much. It used to be about expressing myself, whether it be on the ice in my sequined unitard or just flowin freestyle on the corner with my niggas, all I ever wanted to do was heal this world. Why wont you let me?
