Dr. Phil Might Be Exploiting Mentally Disturbed Guests (VIDEO)

Dr. Phil is teasing his big get of super fucking crazy Shelly Duvall. She was at one time a fairly big named actress. That time was thirty plus years ago. Now she’s a mentally ill senior citizen who Dr. Phil’s producers arranged to have on the show so she could say wacky shit like Robin Williams is shapeshifting and she can see half of him. Dr. Phil keeps a straight face while Duvall claims with an even straighter face that the Sheriff of Nottingham is trying to kill her. One of them is crazy. The other is making money. Why do they have the same face?

Website Popcrush suggests that perhaps Dr. Phil is exploiting this haggard and sick old woman merely for ratings. Year fourteen of the Dr. Phil show seemed like the right time to suggest such an abusive scenario. Maybe watch some more tape to be sure. Dr. Phil couches his purely exploitative guest proceedings under the guise that he’s a psychologist and he’s providing real help. Which he kind of does, in the form of clinical time giveaways and Hometown Buffet coupons, provided you don’t off yourself in the green room. Sort of like Conor McGregor flipping you a tin of Band-Aids after you allow him to use you as a ground and pound dummy for fifteen minutes. Seems fair.

It’s safe to assume that real doctors committed to helping sick people aren’t spending three hours a day in the hair and makeup chair reviewing their television ratings. Or making mall appearances. Many women in particular can’t get enough doctor content. Watching Shelly Duvall’s delusional paranoia is their NFL Sunday Ticket red zone. Who’s crazy again? The Sheriff of Nottingham panned Popeye just like everybody else.
