Emma Sulkowicz became an instant Manhattan art scene phenom by lugging a mattress around the Columbia University campus for nearly two years as performance art to highlight her unpunished campus rapist. Her accused, Paul Nungesser, went unpunished for the old fashioned reason of there being no evidence he ever raped Sulkowicz. Nungesser is now suing Columbia for indulging Mattress Girl in her performance art which was basically calling him a rapist every single day. The University will end up paying Nungesser some decent amount of cash because endowment draw downs are easier than standing up to campus feminists.
Sulkowicz and her mattress graduated in May, but not before she used her college dorm room for one more groundbreaking bit of performance art. She found some sympathetic man mope to perform a real humping turned into barebacked anal rape on her on the four security cameras we all have set up in our dorm rooms. She posted the video claiming if you watch it you are making yourself party to her rape. Though not an actual rape party, which I think Evite offers now as a category.
You might be wondering why I’ve made myself this vulnerable. Look—I want to change the world, and that begins with you, seeing yourself. If you watch this video without my consent, then I hope you reflect on your reasons for objectifying me and participating in my rape, for, in that case, you were the one who couldn’t resist the urge to make Ceci N’est Pas Un Viol about what you wanted to make it about: rape.
Ceci N’est Pas Un Viol is the name of her performance piece. It translates roughly to My Parents Indulged the Living Fuck Out of Me. If step one is to falsify a rape charge, and step two is to film yourself being dramatically raped, by the transitive rule of Upper West Side expressionism, her next move will be to hang herself with an unwound epididymis in front of the NFL headquarters. I’m not saying I agree with the sentiment, but I would write a big fat check to Go Fund Me to make it happen.
(The sex video is in the link above. I’m torn, because I don’t want to give crazy her clicks, at the same time, there’s no place to host a rape video that won’t get removed. You decide for yourself. But in deciding, you’ve already raped Susan B. Anthony.)
