Serena Williams Wants Gender Equality Now

Perhaps it’s a sign of social progress that a black woman from Compton is now flush with time and energy to complain about female athletes not receiving similar accomplishment status to male athletes. Serena Williams simply won’t let gender equality go as an issue in one of the few professional endeavors where genders clearly are not equal.

Williams penned a letter for the Women of the Year issue of Porter magazine, accompanied by a photo of herself in a giant birdcage, for those who appreciate their symbolism shoved hot and right up their ass:

“People call me one of the ‘world’s greatest female athletes’. Do they say LeBron is one of the world’s best male athletes? Is Tiger? Federer? Why not? They are certainly not female. We should never let this go unchallenged. We should always be judged by our achievements, not by our gender.”

The question might be better put, do you want to be known as the world’s greatest female athlete or as that middling tennis player with the Hollywood Hulk pythons? By her own admission, Serena Williams stated that Andy Murray would beat her 6-0 6-0 in a matter of minutes and she’d likely not score a single point. By the admission of most other tennis analysts, she wouldn’t rank in the top 1500 of a gender neutral pro ranking. The most friendly PC coddlers insist she might rank as high as 300th. You have to wonder if that particular struggling Slav at 299 has earned a hundred million in prize money during his career or owns an eight figure endorsement deal with Nike.

What’s the precise point here? To be equals or greater among equals? Level the playing field. We’re playing to 21. You spot me 20 points and I take out the ball and we both have to wear tampons and take outside set shots.
